We’ve been interviewing all the who’s who of broadcasting and social media, helping to find the best bits of info and advice out there to help you be the podcasters out there. This time the accomplished Mark Ramsey of Mark Ramsey Media was kind enough to answer some of our questions. Providing us with some great sound bytes, listen in for some pointers.

Who he is: Mark Ramsey of Mark Ramsey Media, set out with the goal to help broadcasters sync with digital media, and help radio expand and be seen as a multi-media/multi-platform animal. He’s been involved with radio since his college years, and his business is just one of his broadcasting pursuits.
How businesses can use audio: The real questions are- what can be made better, using audio? Who are you? What kind of business do you have? What kind of problems do your consumers usually have? How can audio solve them? It depends on what kind of business you are, for example a pool company could have a podcast on pool maintenance. It’s about seeing a business as a media brand.
Niche podcasts: They enable people to get certain things in certain ways easily. Niche podcasts have a rich, specific audience that, most importantly, lives worldwide.
Integrating podcasts and social media: One doesn’t work without the other, and you need to get the word out.
Monetizing: It depends on the nature of the content and the business, but it’s not just about ads, it’s also about clients. In a way, through podcasts, your business is monetized, and done more effectively on a “second level”. A podcast bringing people in is essentially helping you gain more anyway.
