It’s been 8 months, and now it’s time to update you all with fresh data on Spreaker’s audience. We know how important it is to be aware of who the average listener is and what they do. We updated our last infographic with the goal of helping you get to know Spreaker’s audience better, which should also help you better engage with your listeners.
How are they listening?
The most important change is that the average time spent listening has decreased to 24 minutes against the 28 minutes in July, as well as the average session duration both live and on-demand (respectively 29 and 22 minutes against 34 and 25 minutes).
Keeping a listener engaged for 24 minutes is an excellent result and this change reflects that the average length of any piece of audio content shouldn’t be more than 25 minutes. Furthermore, despite the incredible growth of new podcasters and new shows, the time listeners spend listening to podcasts is the same.
Indeed, the total time spent listening to live shows is slightly lower than 8 months ago (from 28% to 25%) while the total time spent listening on-demand grew by 3%.
Who are they?
The percentage of men and women listeners is still the same but we can see that audiences made up of women are 1% more in the age groups 25-34 and 45-54!
Where are they?
The United States keeps its first place standing in Spreaker’s community, followed by Italy for streaming and then by Spain for number of downloads. We have some new entries on the download side: welcome onboard to Canada and Spain!
