How To Keep Your Podcast Topic Sounding Fresh

Exploring the different sides of your topic

How can you make sure that you never podfade or run out of things to talk about on your podcast? Most of the work you put into your podcast revolves around presenting your main topic in an entertaining and informative way – and it’s the core reason why your listeners tune in. It has to be multifaceted and provide numerous fresh angles.

While excellent storytelling skills can make anything sound interesting enough, bringing content that’s of value to your audience is what will keep them coming back. It’s all about drawing from the resources available to you, and finding those unique takes. You can refer to your listeners’ feedback and contributions, scrape show topic ideas from other media sources in your genre, subscribe to newsletters, set up google alerts, and run thorough keyword searches.

Learn about all the different ways you can make the most out of your podcast’s topic in this episode of the Spreaker Live Show.

untitled-design-12

It’s a podcasting renaissance, as we already know. I won’t reiterate how it can be affirmed, there’s already very looong literature available on that (sources here, here, and here).

Besides its general increased use, podcasting has also landed on new content landscapes in the past two years, becoming a medium that content marketers can turn to when it comes to building relationships with potential clients. Marketers and consultants – the entire marketing sector, even – have started using this “new” tool as another way to stay in touch with the communities that follow them.

As part of my job at Spreaker, I study what can seem like a heterogeneous podcasting ecosystem to find common patterns that can help me with my daily struggle in understanding this fast growing market. One of the most interesting things I’ve noticed in the last months is the use of podcasting as a main platform in content marketing strategies.

In the past few weeks we’ve been pushing out some new releases to our iOS Apps; some of you have reached out because they couldn’t find the statistics screen on the Spreaker Podcast Radio app anymore.

As of now, listener analytics are only displayed on Spreaker Studio and this means that if you are a content producer you should have already downloaded the Spreaker Studio App for iOS in order to access your stats. In a few months (we can’t reveal the date just yet) we’ll be launching a complete renewal of Spreaker Podcast Radio App for iOS which will give users a much better podcast listening experience, like we already did on Android.

3 Green Podcasts for Earth Day

Green Podcasts Earth Day

In the 60s Paul McCartney sang “Sit beside a mountain stream / see her waters rise/ Listen to the pretty sound of music as she flies.” Today, we could replace “music” with “podcasts” to give it an updated 2000s feel without taking away from its feeling and message. Listening to podcasts instead of songs can be somewhat soothing, bring you back into the moment, and allow you to better enjoy your surroundings.

So, here are our suggestions for celebrating #EarthDay: not a list of movies to watch or rules to follow, but just some hints on what to listen to while you’re going through the motions of your daily routine, to really celebrate and respect mother nature.
