As a podcaster, you know how important social media is to spreading your audio’s message as widely as possible. And Facebook needs no introduction as a crucial tool in your strategy. With over 2 billion active users, Facebook is the farthest reaching social media site and can undoubtedly help you increase your listeners. That’s why a Facebook Page could be just the tool needed to boost your podcast’s reach.
How A Facebook Page Can Improve Your Podcast Strategy
Creating a Facebook Page is simple and in the long run will be beneficial for you and your show. How? Well, the answer is threefold.
Firstly, the ‘official’ pages are public and visible to everybody, this makes them easier to find, for listeners to like your podcast and also for inviting new listeners to enjoy your show.
Secondly, if you know how you want to position your podcast, a Facebook Page will help you communicate what yours is about more easily. Use your page to create a cool name for your show and to access additional marketing activities. Activities including targeted Facebook with custom audience campaigns will really help you spread your brand to the best of your ability and hopefully reach your ideal listeners!
Thirdly, you can create strong podcaster / listener relationships and get to know your fans better. Having an official Page makes it easier to stay in touch with your audience – with features such as direct messaging. What’s more, you will be able to access detailed statistics about the people who like your page and use this information to improve your podcast.
Now that you know just how beneficial an official Page is we want to explain just how easy it is to set up. Also, it is important to be aware that from August 1, 2018, Facebook auto-sharing will no longer be possible via a personal Facebook Profile, instead episodes can only be automatically distributed via a Facebook Page which you then link to your show on Spreaker.
So, first off you will need to create a Facebook Page and then enable the automatic sharing option on your Spreaker account.
Use our step-by-step instructions and you’ll be up and running in minutes!
- Access the Content Management System
- Click on your show
- Choose the “Autosharing Options” from the menu on the left
- As shown in the screenshot below, you’ll be able to select a specific Facebook Page.
Once your Facebook Page is selected, you’ll be able to share your episodes to the page automatically. As ever your Spreaker account continues to be the best way for you to share your content to several platforms and you can still able to share via your Facebook Profile. You can find the Facebook share buttons on your show and episodes’ pages, in the Spreaker apps and CMS. This way you can manually share your podcast everywhere on Facebook, including your personal Profile.
Enjoy and happy auto-sharing!
