With Werk It, a women’s podcast festival, approaching quickly, we’re thrilled to announce our title sponsorship for the event in Los Angeles on October 3-4! As part of our partnership with the event host — WNYC Studios, New York Public Radio’s podcasting entity — we’ll be live streaming some of the sessions from the two day symposium (be on the lookout for more details!).
After our team attended the conference for the first time last year, we absolutely fell in love with the mission, passion and energy behind Werk It… and we knew we had to be part of it in a bigger way. The annual gathering “for women shaping the future of podcasting” presents a plethora of opportunities for women in podcasting to connect and learn through “conversations, workshops, live tapings, networking events, and one-on-one mentoring sessions.”
We’re looking forward to connecting with and learning from women in the podcast industry, including Spreaker Prime podcaster (and founder of Mayzie Media) Ahyiana Angel. Her podcast Switch, Pivot or Quit, shares encouragement, insights and tips on the career challenges that women face. In addition to interviewing seasoned professional women who provide clarity and practical tactics for listeners, Ahyiana pulls from her own experience of successfully switched careers from a sports entertainment publicist to a traditionally published author; her insights have been featured by Create & Cultivate, Black Enterprise, The Muse and more.
If you’re planning to Werk It too, be sure to add Anyiana’s session, “Quit Playing Small” to your calendar for October 4 at 11:45 am. During her session on the Main Stage, she’ll address “your career quandaries and quell your self-doubt, one audience-submitted question at a time.” To get a little taste of what Anyiana — and her most recent book — are all about and what this session will focus on, give her “5 Tips to Quit Playing Small” podcast episode a listen.
Stay tuned for more info on some of the session we’re looking forward to attending and how you can watch them live!
