Record your podcast hand-free with Siri Shortcuts and Spreaker Studio

Siri Shortcut for podcast - Spreaker voice command

With iOS 12, Siri became more than just a voice assistant, it became your virtual mind reader, with the ability to recommend you things you should, or usually do, at particular times.

Siri now has the power to automatically identify your common tasks, location or calendar events and will tell you whether you should be somewhere or doing something.
Also, it suggests specific apps for specific situations, via its visual interface when you access Spotlight search or with the lock screen – meaning that you can repeat actions quickly and easily.

But of course, the changes don’t stop here!

Now users will be able to record phrases which Siri will understand as triggers for predefined actions and this means that it’s even easier to access some of Spreaker Studio features.

So, let’s take a look at what Shortcuts are and how they work, before diving into how to use them with your Spreaker Studio app.

Siri – Your indispensable assistant

For you it means continuing to use your phone as normal, the difference is that later on, any actions or tasks you performed within an app, will be presented to you in the Spotlight search, Look Up and Lock Screen as Siri Suggestions.

So, when you swipe down you might see an option to call someone back, go back to a conversation you just hung up on, or to ‘Record a Podcast’ – once you’re familiar with the action you can search for it in Spotlight to repeat it.

Siri Shortcuts will make your life easier, you’ll be able to use your phone completely hands-free – no mean feat.

Using voice commands will allow Siri Shortcuts to give you a new way to activate Spreaker studio with your voice alone, you’ll be able to create Siri personalized ‘phrases’ for actions inside your favorite podcasting app!

First up, is the ‘Record Audio’ trigger, there’s no need to press a button, say the command and you’ll be recording. So even if you’re out and about and doing 200 other things at once, there’s no excuse now not to get broadcasting!
