She is currently working on the project #cycleofjoy, where she is inspiring people to find their own cycle of happiness.

What’s going on with our iOS apps

0

In the past few weeks we’ve been pushing out some new releases to our iOS Apps; some of you have reached out because they couldn’t find the statistics screen on the Spreaker Podcast Radio app anymore.

As of now, listener analytics are only displayed on Spreaker Studio and this means that if you are a content producer you should have already downloaded the Spreaker Studio App for iOS in order to access your stats. In a few months (we can’t reveal the date just yet) we’ll be launching a complete renewal of Spreaker Podcast Radio App for iOS which will give users a much better podcast listening experience, like we already did on Android.

Spreaker Spring Retreat 2016

0

We’re back to our homes and desks after an exhilarating four days spent together in a small village close to Bologna, Italy.

This has been the first retreat of 2016 (our last one was this past December in Barcelona), and it’s become another testament to my personal feeling that the more we get to stay and play together, the more the team grows!

We had some really cool moments together, like personally welcoming aboard new team members we’ve been speaking with on Slack for months (which, you know, is weird! but is also one of the more mysterious sides of the remote working). We shared a gorgeous home out in the hills of Italy, cooking, sleeping, working, and just chilling out. It was also the first time Rob had ever been to Italy (he’s still surprised about how Italians cook pasta).

As it happens during professional events, we had a detailed schedule. Here are the highlights from these truly awesome days together:

Daniel is a keynote speaker on podcasting and social media and he hosts a network of award-nominated shows covering how to podcast, clean-comedy, and the #1 unofficial podcast for ABC’s hit drama Once Upon a Time. He also writes about technology, productivity, and entrepreneurship on his personal blog.

So, as a podcast trainer and as a speaker, we think it could be insightful to know something more about his opinion on the podcasting field. Let’s start with the interview:

Is 2016 the year of Podcast Advertising?

0

2016 is definitely the year of podcast advertising, especially considering our partnership with Triton Digital announced back in December. Even if it still has to scale before it becomes mainstream, big Internet brands like MailChimp and Amazon, along with plenty of startups like underwear brand Mack Weldon, have been using ads to pursue new customers through podcasts.

According to estimates from ZenithOptimedia, ad spending on podcasts in the U.S. could hit $35.1 million in 2016. That’s only 0.06 percent of all digital ad spending, but some say that estimate is low and that it could go as high as $50 million this year. – via adweek.com

This year the International Journalism Festival in Perugia (Italy) celebrates its tenth birthday and we’ll be there to help them blow out the candles. We’re pretty excited because we’ll also be part of two panels, one with CEO Francesco Baschieri on podcasting as a distinct medium, and another with one of our podcasters, Chiara Beretta Mazzotta (BookBlister Radio), who will be a panelist in a talk about the future of web radio.

Here’s all the info about the panels:

The Pros and Cons of Working Remotely

0

Wouldn’t it be great to work from home? How about a cozy café?

What if you had total freedom to choose where to work? Doesn’t that sound like a breath of fresh air?

I can give some insight on that as a Spreaker teammate, where remote-working, or telecommuting, is the mot du jour. In the past year, I’ve encountered remote working’s both pros and cons head on, with some aspects of this working style being totally surprising.

In case you didn’t know, Spreaker’s team is scattered across the globe, mainly in Europe (Spain, Italy, Germany, and Lithuania), as well as the United States (Seattle). Some of us work in co-working spaces, or shared offices, with others preferring the comfort of their own homes. Personally, I work in a co-working space in Berlin.
