We had a great 2012, with exciting events, developments, interviews, and podcasts. We at Spreaker have to thank you for all of the fun and accomplishments; you’re the reason we work as hard as we do on making the platform as great as it can be. Let’s take a look at the highlights and winning moments of the year, that we made together.
In new features:
We’ve improved our iOS app’s DJ console this summer, making it more fun and easier to use. In just a few taps, you have a polished podcast to show-off.
Plus, we enabled a feature that allows listeners to tune in to the latest episode of your podcast by calling a landline number. Your fans will always be at your side!
Our biggest tech news of the year was also our most recent development: our brand new iPad app! Transform your tablet into a fully-equipped radio station, where you can mix your voice, iTunes music library, and sound effects, and then share it all on Facebook and Twitter.
In big news:
This past Spring we reached an amazing feat when you guys had broadcasted up to one million episodes! It was even more incredible when shortly after that we reached one million users! Spreaker has really grown over the past few years, and we have really gathered some awesome podcasters here, hailing from all over the world. From revolutionaries of the Arab Spring, to the young sportscaster pumping out episodes from the living room, you are all superstars!
Also, one of our most exciting events here at Spreaker was having the members of The Ting Tings, Jules de Martino and Katie White, present their new album Sounds From Nowheresville. They ran an awesome show, featuring a killer playlist!
Of course what would we be without your shows? Some of our favorite podcasts this year featured:
The Myfatfact Podcast, where well-informed hosts are upfront and honest on health and wellness in today’s world.
Ex-housemate of the UK’s Big Brother TV program, Benedict Garrett, has been gracing our airwaves with his thoughts on sex, pop culture, and more.
The Chris Allen Weather Podcast has been faithfully offering his weather forecasts and warning on Spreaker for quite a while now. Tune in as he brings his TV professionalism on the air.
The Susan Powter Show will motivate you to change your life for the better, by offering facts on health and fitness. Her direct and frank style will certainly help you shape up for the new year.
The Baltimore Spectator certainly caused a commotion as he negotiated with police before getting arrested, right on the air with his podcast. His listeners were captivated and rooting for him the whole way through.
Well that’s a wrap for 2012, onwards to an even better 2013. Cheers!
