“Werk It” from Near or Far

October 8 Update: This year’s #WerkItFestival was truly a memorable one! Didn’t get a chance to be there or listen live? You can listen to them here:

Werk It from Wherever

ICYMI, earlier this month we announced our title sponsorship for Werk It, a women’s podcast festival, in Los Angeles on October 3-4! One of the things we’re most excited about bringing to the partnership is our live broadcast of the entire event utilizing our Spreaker Studio app’s live broadcasting tool.

That means, no matter where you are, you’ll be able to tune in and hear all the incredible sessions during both days of the festival (for free)!

How? It’s simple. Just visit WerkItFestival.com during the scheduled session times on October 3 and 4 and you’ll see two Spreaker Web Players – Main Stage and Second Stage sessions – where you can press play and enjoy.

Werk It from Los Angeles

A few of the ladies from the Spreaker team will be making the trek to Los Angeles to learn from and enjoy the company of the industry’s most remarkable women (and to share the mission of Spreaker!). There are so many sessions and events to look forward to, so if you’re looking for a little bit of guidance or some ideas, check out what our team is most looking forward to.

TONIA’S RECOMMENDATION: Failure Is The Pits: An Anti-Ted Talk on October 3 at 2 pm (Second Stage)

“I’m always looking for sessions that can help me better understand and facilitate our team’s creative processes. A big part of creation is working through good and bad ideas, so I’m looking forward to hearing this speaker’s perspective.

There are also a lot of content-focused sessions that I’m looking forward to learning from. We’re always looking to better understand the thought process of podcast creators so that we can better communicate with them and give them the resources they’re looking for.”

Tonia Maffeo, Head of Marketing

CHIARA’S RECOMMENDATION: You Can Grow Your Audience Without Going Batshit Crazy on October 3 at 11 am (Second Stage)

“I’m content curator, and I help podcasters promote and sell their content, so I really look forward to learning more about these two topics: growing podcast audience and scaling the ad business. There are so many great sessions, so in addition to the above panel, I’m also really looking forward to attending “Beyond Underwear & Mattresses: Scaling a Multimillion Dollar Podcasting Business” with Katie Sprenger and Caila Litman. Plus, I am planning to go to the “ Keynote Conversation With Lisa Hanawalt” because I’m a huge fan of her, especially for Tuca & Bertie (which Netflix shouldn’t have canceled!).”

Chiara Sagramola, Content Curator & Advertising Manager

IVEY’S RECOMMENDATION: Future/Now Summit on October 3 at 9:30 am (Main Stage)

“There are a lot of sessions I’m looking forward to from a professional perspective – like ‘Podcasting as a Tool for Community Building’ and ‘Abandon Your Plans’ – I’m also really excited about attending the ‘Future/Now Summit’ from more of a podcast fangirl point of view! Some of the female producers and executives from a couple of my favorite shows (Dirty John and Running from Cops) will be on the panel! It will be really cool to hear their perspectives and ideas on what’s coming in the industry.”

Ivey Amburgey, PR & Media Specialist

BONUS RECOMMENDATION: Quit Playing Small on October 4 at 11:45 am (Main Stage)

We mentioned it in our introductory post about our Werk It partnership, but another session to keep on your radar is one presented by our very own Spreaker Prime host! Add Anyiana Angel’s (host of Switch, Pivot or Quit) where she’ll be addressing “your career quandaries and quell your self-doubt, one audience-submitted question at a time.”
