Infographic: What’s Going on with Your Listeners?

Statistics are extremely important when it comes to really understanding your audience, and it’s why we make sure to always give you updated numbers on how your shows and tracks are doing.

It’s just as important to get the bigger picture, too, so starting this month, we’ll be sharing Spreaker‘s monthly overall stats. We want to be more open with you, plus give you a better feel of the context you’re working within.

Take a look at our eye-popping info graphic, featuring detailed data on overall listening time from streaming sources (download data isn’t available).

Right off the bat, you’ll see that average listening time is around 20 minutes, running directly in line with that fact that the average commute is only 26 minutes. Listeners tend to opt for content on-demand and split their listening into into small “edible” chunks, so it’s a detail definitely worth considering when preparing your podcast. You can really make all of those Spreaker audio storage hours offered count by opting to make short, quality podcasts instead of 3 hour long efforts that could get passed over.

Stay tuned for more Spreaker infographics every month!

This helps prove a point about an audience being out there and just the reason you keep the F.C.C. off the net because they`ll run all of us off all the podcasts and just turn it into what radio is now..corporate robots

Thanks for sharing. This supports my view that Podcasters are competing against traditional radio. That commute period is radio’s heartland where the 8:15 peak audience is at.

What is even more interesting is the percentage of male to female listeners. Radio more often than not has a gemale bias.

I agree edible chunks that are high value is what podcasters should aim to deliver.

These are all of Spreaker’s stats combined. For example, 58% of people who tune in to Spreaker’s shows are male, and 42% are female.
