At Spreaker, we celebrate the power of audio and the incredible creators who bring podcasts to life. Our mission is to inspire, uplift, and empower hosts on their journey to success.
In our Podcast Success Stories webinar, we sat down with two outstanding Spreaker Prime hosts, Edwin Covarrubias and Ahyiana Angel, to explore their unique paths and the winning strategies behind their thriving shows.
Authenticity & Community: The Key to Podcasting Success
Building a successful podcast doesn’t happen overnight. It takes dedication, consistency, and a deep connection with your audience. Both Edwin and Ahyiana emphasize that authenticity and community-building are the cornerstones of their podcasting journeys.
Edwin Covarrubias: Crafting Stories Across Languages
Edwin Covarrubias, the creative force behind Scary Story Podcast, has captivated audiences in both English and Spanish. His shows masterfully combine chilling narratives with a deep understanding of his listeners. For Edwin, creating content that resonates with different audiences is all about adaptation and connection.
“I translate the stories and adapt them. If the stories are aimed at the Mexican audience, I have somebody from Mexico that will translate specific words or expressions. The goal is for the listener to stay engaged as long as possible! If I keep it real to myself, it’s going to sound real to other people too.”
Beyond the mic, Edwin engages with his audience through events and social media. His dedication to community-building strengthens the bond with his listeners, creating a loyal fanbase that supports him: “Get deeper into those specific communities; each social media audience is different, and it’s great to understand how it works.”
Looking ahead, Edwin envisions expanding into new formats like books, movies, and screenplays while continuing to nurture his podcast community.
Ahyiana Angel: Podcasting as a Personal Brand Launchpad
For Ahyiana Angel, host of Switch, Pivot, or Quit, podcasting became a powerful tool to expand her personal brand.
Through her podcast, she empowers listeners to navigate career transitions and personal growth. Her show not only provides valuable insights but also serves as a platform for community engagement: “Knowing your audience and understanding your audience is crucial because you also then have to think about what would best serve them.”
Ahyiana’s marketing strategy revolves around delivering content that directly meets her audience’s needs. By providing quick, actionable advice, she has cultivated a loyal following that turns to her for guidance in both personal and professional growth.
In the future, Ahyiana aims to host more webinars, collaborate with companies, and create spaces where people feel seen and heard: “So many people want to feel seen and heard, and when you give them the space to do that, they walk away just feeling so filled up.”
Lessons in Networking
Both Edwin and Ahyiana agree that attending industry events can open doors to new opportunities. Their advice is to approach these events with curiosity and an open mind.
“Try to be genuinely curious about people,” Edwin advises. “A five-second conversation can apply years later.”
Ahyiana echoes this sentiment, encouraging podcasters to show up authentically: “Show up in a way that feels natural to you so that people are not put off by your presence.”
The Power of Podcasting Communities
What sets Edwin and Ahyiana apart is their unwavering dedication to their communities. By consistently engaging with their audiences and delivering content that resonates, they’ve turned their podcasts into powerful platforms for connection and growth.
Their journeys are proof that podcasting, when fueled by passion, authenticity, and a community-first mindset, has the power to be more than a platform, it can spark a movement. By staying true to their voices and prioritizing audience engagement, they’ve established lasting bonds that keep listeners coming back episode after episode.
Are you ready to elevate your podcast? It all starts with connection. Engage with your audience, share your unique perspective, and create content that resonates. Your podcast isn’t just a show, it’s a conversation, a community, and a space where voices come alive. Keep pushing forward, and watch your podcast thrive!
