The last several weeks have been nothing short of an emotional rollercoaster thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic. We’re all experiencing big changes and shifts in our daily routines, especially because the vast majority of us are quarantined in our homes. From anxious to grateful and bored to hopeful, we’re all likely experiencing a vast array of emotions on a daily basis. In this time of uncertainty, not only is that okay, but it’s completely understandable!
It’s a new year, and with that, we know many of you have goals to really take your podcast to the next level! Our team is always looking for ways to support exactly that, so we’re thrilled to kick off 2020 with our Podchaser partnership!
We’ve made a simple change that’s going to have a big impact on how listeners find you: we’ve updated our categories. Why is this so important? The latest version of Spreaker’s categories are now the same as Apple Podcasts’ categories – making for quicker, better, categorization for you!
We’re excited to announce that we’ve added another distribution outlet to our one-click / tap distribution function: Podcast Addict.
Podcast Addict is the most popular and downloaded podcast listening app on the Google Play Store, according to the platform they have had over 9 million downloads and are home to 750 thousand podcasts. The platform’s importance is sure to make it a fundamental distribution point for all podcasters as Android’s share of the market continues to grow.
October 8 Update: This year’s #WerkItFestival was truly a memorable one! Didn’t get a chance to be there or listen live? You can listen to them here:
Werk It from Wherever
ICYMI, earlier this month we announced our title sponsorship for Werk It, a women’s podcast festival, in Los Angeles on October 3-4! One of the things we’re most excited about bringing to the partnership is our live broadcast of the entire event utilizing our Spreaker Studio app’s live broadcasting tool.
That means, no matter where you are, you’ll be able to tune in and hear all the incredible sessions during both days of the festival (for free)!
How? It’s simple. Just visit WerkItFestival.com during the scheduled session times on October 3 and 4 and you’ll see two Spreaker Web Players – Main Stage and Second Stage sessions – where you can press play and enjoy.
Creating a podcast should be straightforward – and we’ve designed Spreaker Studio specifically with this in mind. A combination of simplicity and powerful tools, we’re constantly working to add new features for users to refine their podcast in an easy-to-use manner. Now the possibility of creating professional level audio has become even easier with our newly launched mic controls on Spreaker Studio for iOS and Android devices.
We’re constantly working to find partnerships that will be of benefit our amazing community of podcasters, so we’re thrilled to announce our new integration with Deezer! While our parent company Voxnest announced a partnership with Deezer in late 2018, this new arm of the union allows podcasts hosted on Spreaker to be directly distributed to Deezer, an online music streaming platform.
With Werk It, a women’s podcast festival, approaching quickly, we’re thrilled to announce our title sponsorship for the event in Los Angeles on October 3-4! As part of our partnership with the event host — WNYC Studios, New York Public Radio’s podcasting entity — we’ll be live streaming some of the sessions from the two day symposium (be on the lookout for more details!).
We’re thrilled to announce that Spreaker Studio has become the first podcasting app to be fully compatible and designed specifically to work with Chrome OS. Now you can enjoy all of our best podcasting tools straight from your Chromebook.
To give you some background, Chrome OS is the operating system installed on the Google Chromebook. Launched 8 years ago, Chromebook has grown at a fast rate since its launch – with some 17 million units predicted to be in use by 2023. As a result of the products’ affordable price tag, Chromebooks have become the computer of choice within the educational field, and in 2017 Chromebooks and other Google products made up 58% of all devices purchased for US classrooms.
We launched Private Episode Sharing to offer our users maximum publishing flexibility and the chance to develop their podcast business model. Following the release, we received several requests from our podcasters to extend the feature to whole shows which is why we are excited to announce the arrival of Private Podcast Sharing!
